The FLIR IRW-3C Infrared Window is a permanently installed inspection window designed to provide safe access for thermal imaging inspections of energised electrical equipment without removing panel covers or opening enclosures. The window creates a protective barrier between personnel and live electrical systems while allowing thermal cameras to capture accurate radiometric thermal images.
Featuring a broadband calcium fluoride crystal optic, the IRW-3C transmits shortwave, midwave, and longwave infrared energy while also allowing visible light transmission for improved inspection visibility. This enables compatibility with virtually all FLIR thermal imaging cameras and supports efficient electrical maintenance programmes.
The window incorporates FLIR's PIRma-Lock™ mounting technology, which securely locks the assembly in place without requiring additional retaining screws. The anodised aluminium frame provides corrosion resistance and long-term durability in industrial and utility environments.
The IRW-3C is commonly installed on switchgear, motor control centres, distribution panels, transformers, substations, and electrical cabinets to support predictive maintenance programmes, improve inspection efficiency, and reduce arc flash risks during routine thermographic surveys.
