DESCRIPTION:

The Rohde & Schwarz RTM3002 configured with the RTM-B225 bandwidth upgrade extends the RTM3000 platform to 500 MHz, providing a powerful two-channel oscilloscope solution for high-speed digital electronics, embedded systems, power electronics, communications engineering, signal integrity investigations, and advanced laboratory troubleshooting. The RTM3000 family is built around Rohde & Schwarz's "Power of Ten" architecture, combining a custom 10-bit ADC, deep memory acquisition, high sampling performance, and a large touchscreen interface within a single engineering platform.

A defining characteristic of the RTM3000 architecture is its custom-designed 10-bit analog-to-digital converter. Compared with conventional 8-bit oscilloscopes, the RTM3002 delivers four times the vertical resolution, allowing engineers to identify subtle signal anomalies, switching ripple, transient disturbances, power integrity issues, and low-level noise components that may otherwise remain hidden.

The oscilloscope supports real-time sampling rates up to 5 GSa/s and provides 40 Mpoints acquisition memory per channel, extending to 80 Mpoints in interleaved operation. This deep memory architecture enables long-duration captures while maintaining high timing resolution, making the RTM3002 particularly effective for analysing high-speed serial interfaces, clock systems, communications signals, embedded processors, switching power supplies, and transient events.

Standard functionality includes FFT spectrum analysis with up to 128k points, digital voltmeter operation, trigger counter measurements, advanced search functions, automatic measurements, waveform mathematics, mask testing, and comprehensive triggering capabilities. Optional software packages further expand functionality with protocol triggering and decoding, power analysis, frequency response analysis, spectrum analysis, segmented memory acquisition, arbitrary waveform generation, and mixed-signal operation.

The RTM3002 is also upgradeable to a mixed-signal oscilloscope through the RTM-B1 option, adding 16 digital logic channels for synchronous time-correlated analogue and digital analysis. This flexibility allows the instrument to grow alongside evolving development and troubleshooting requirements.

A large 10.1-inch WXGA capacitive touchscreen provides excellent visibility for waveform analysis, protocol decoding, FFT measurements, and automated results. Combined with a fast 10-second boot time and Rohde & Schwarz probe interface technology, the RTM3002 offers an efficient workflow for demanding engineering environments.
