DESCRIPTION:

The Rohde & Schwarz RTC1002 configured with the RTC-B220 option extends the RTC1000 platform to 70 MHz bandwidth, providing a capable and cost-effective measurement solution for electronics education, embedded development, maintenance, service operations, and general-purpose laboratory work. The RTC1000 family is designed around an integrated multi-instrument architecture, allowing users to perform a wide range of measurement tasks using a single compact bench-top instrument.

The oscilloscope features two analog input channels, a maximum real-time sampling rate of up to 2 GSa/s, memory depth of up to 2 Mpoints, and waveform update rates exceeding 10,000 waveforms per second. This performance enables accurate analysis of analog and digital circuits, switching power supplies, microcontroller systems, sensor interfaces, industrial control electronics, and communication buses commonly encountered in education and product development environments.

A major advantage of the RTC1000 platform is its integrated "X-in-1" functionality. In addition to oscilloscope operation, the instrument incorporates FFT spectrum analysis, a digital voltmeter, frequency counter, waveform generator, pattern generator, and component tester. These built-in tools reduce the need for multiple standalone instruments while streamlining troubleshooting and development workflows.

The FFT analysis engine supports frequency-domain investigations with up to 128k points, enabling users to analyse harmonics, switching noise, distortion, and spectral content directly from captured waveforms. Integrated automatic measurements, QuickView analysis, cursor functions, mask testing, and mathematical operations further simplify signal investigation and validation tasks.

Optional upgrades extend the RTC1000 into a mixed-signal oscilloscope with eight digital channels while adding protocol triggering and decoding for I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, LIN, RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 communications. This flexibility allows the platform to grow alongside application requirements without replacing the base instrument.

The compact fanless design, responsive capacitive touchscreen, LAN connectivity, and low power consumption make the RTC1002 + RTC-B220 particularly attractive for educational institutions, electronics laboratories, manufacturing facilities, repair centres, and engineering development teams.
