DESCRIPTION:

The Rohde & Schwarz RTB22 configured with the RTB-B242 bandwidth upgrade extends the RTB22 platform to 200 MHz while retaining the complete functionality of the RTB 2 Series architecture. Designed for embedded development, industrial automation, power electronics, communications interfaces, electronics manufacturing, education, and laboratory environments, the RTB22 combines high-performance oscilloscope capabilities with an intuitive operating experience.

A defining feature of the RTB platform is its custom-designed 10-bit analog-to-digital converter. Compared with traditional 8-bit oscilloscopes, the RTB22 provides four times the vertical resolution, allowing engineers to observe low-level signal details, switching ripple, power integrity issues, transient disturbances, and noise components with significantly greater clarity and accuracy.

The RTB22 supports real-time sampling rates of up to 2.5 GSa/s and provides memory depths of up to 20 Mpoints in interleaved operation. This combination of bandwidth, sampling performance, and deep memory enables detailed analysis of high-speed digital buses, embedded processors, switching power supplies, industrial control electronics, communication interfaces, and transient events. Waveform acquisition rates of up to 50,000 waveforms per second improve the probability of capturing intermittent faults and rare signal anomalies.

The oscilloscope incorporates a comprehensive set of integrated measurement and analysis functions. Standard features include FFT spectrum analysis, digital voltmeter operation, frequency counter measurements, automatic measurements, mask testing, mathematical analysis, segmented memory acquisition, and history mode recording. A built-in 25 MHz arbitrary waveform generator and pattern generator provide signal generation capability without requiring additional bench instruments.

The RTB22 is MSO-ready and can be expanded with optional mixed-signal functionality supporting up to 16 digital channels. Protocol triggering and decoding options support I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN, and LIN communications, making the instrument highly suitable for embedded systems development and industrial communications troubleshooting.

The large 10.1-inch WXGA capacitive touchscreen provides excellent visibility for simultaneous viewing of analog waveforms, digital channels, FFT measurements, protocol decodes, and automated measurement results. Combined with dedicated hardware controls and rapid startup times, the RTB22 is optimized for efficient use in both development and troubleshooting environments.
