The Rohde & Schwarz NPA701-G is the flagship model in the R&S NPA family, combining advanced power analysis capabilities with integrated compliance testing functionality. Designed for engineers, compliance laboratories, product development teams, energy efficiency testing facilities, and production environments, the instrument enables detailed analysis of AC and DC power consumption characteristics while simplifying regulatory verification procedures.

Unlike conventional power analyzers that require external software for compliance evaluation, the NPA701-G performs in-device compliance testing according to IEC 62301, EN 50564, and EN 61000-3-2 standards. Guided step-by-step procedures help users perform valid and repeatable standby power and harmonic emission measurements directly from the instrument.

The analyzer measures voltage, current, power, power factor, frequency, energy consumption, harmonics, and inrush current behaviour with a basic accuracy of 0.05% and a sampling rate of 500 kSa/s. Advanced graphical display modes allow simultaneous viewing of voltage and current waveforms, trend charts, harmonic content, and power-up characteristics without requiring additional software.

A wide measurement range from 50 µW to 12 kW enables analysis of ultra-low standby power devices through to high-power equipment. The instrument supports current measurements from 1 mA to 20 A and voltage measurements from 1 mV to 600 V, making it suitable for consumer electronics, industrial equipment, power supplies, appliances, and energy-efficient product design.

The NPA701-G includes graphical, advanced, and compliance measurement packages as standard. Additional features include limit testing, minimum and maximum value recording, analog and digital I/O, external probe support, data logging, harmonic analysis to the 50th harmonic, and CSV export functionality.
