DESCRIPTION:

The Rohde & Schwarz NPA101 is the entry model within the R&S NPA family and is designed for accurate measurement of voltage, current, power, energy consumption, power factor, frequency, and total harmonic distortion (THD). It provides a cost-effective solution for engineers, manufacturers, educational laboratories, service centres, and quality assurance teams requiring professional power measurement capability without the advanced graphical and compliance-testing functions found in higher NPA models.

The instrument supports AC and DC power measurements across a wide dynamic range, enabling accurate analysis of both ultra-low standby power devices and higher power electrical equipment. With measurement capability from 50 µW to 12 kW, the NPA101 is suitable for consumer electronics, power supplies, industrial equipment, household appliances, and energy efficiency testing applications.

The NPA101 provides a basic measurement accuracy of 0.05% and uses a 16-bit acquisition system operating at 500 kSa/s. Current and voltage signals are measured across a bandwidth extending from DC to 100 kHz, allowing accurate capture of dynamic power behaviour and transient events.

A bright 3.5-inch QVGA colour display allows simultaneous presentation of multiple user-configurable measurement parameters. The instrument supports voltage, current, active power, apparent power, reactive power, power factor, energy, frequency, and total harmonic distortion measurements, providing comprehensive visibility into device power performance.

USB and LAN interfaces are provided as standard for remote control, data logging, and automated test system integration. SCPI command support enables straightforward integration into development, production, and validation environments.
