DESCRIPTION:

The Bird BNA1000-010 Time Domain Analysis Option is a software enhancement for the Bird BNA1000 Series Vector Network Analyzer platform, adding advanced time-domain measurement and analysis functionality for RF, microwave, manufacturing, and research applications. The option enables engineers to transform measured frequency-domain S-parameter data into the time domain for detailed analysis of devices, transmission paths, and network structures.

Time-domain analysis provides a time-resolved view of device behaviour by converting measured frequency-domain information using inverse transform techniques. This capability allows engineers to identify discontinuities, impedance mismatches, reflections, connector issues, cable faults, and other anomalies that may be difficult to isolate using frequency-domain measurements alone.

The option includes Time Domain Gating functionality, allowing specific portions of the measured signal path to be isolated and analysed while excluding unwanted reflections or fixture effects. This enables more accurate characterization of filters, cables, antennas, connectors, transmission lines, and complex RF assemblies during design, validation, troubleshooting, and production testing activities.

The BNA1000-010 option is particularly valuable for fault location applications, fixture de-embedding workflows, transmission line analysis, passive component characterization, and manufacturing quality control environments requiring detailed insight into the physical location and behaviour of RF system discontinuities. The feature integrates directly into the BNA1000 software environment and expands the measurement capability of the analyzer without requiring additional external instrumentation.
