The Bird 8892-320 is a high-power oil-cooled RF termination designed for continuous-duty RF power dissipation in transmitter testing, RF system commissioning, broadcast facilities, telecommunications infrastructure, military communications systems, and laboratory environments. As part of Bird's proven 8890 Series, the load combines dielectric fluid cooling with an integrated forced-air blower system to safely dissipate up to 5 kW of continuous RF power.
The load utilizes a precision non-inductive resistor immersed in dielectric oil to provide stable 50 ohm impedance and low signal reflection characteristics across its operating frequency range. The integrated 230 VAC blower assembly continuously circulates cooling air, enabling sustained full-power operation without external cooling infrastructure.
Designed for non-radiating transmitter testing and RF system alignment, the 8892-320 is ideal for verifying transmitter output power, conducting maintenance procedures, performing system acceptance testing, and protecting RF systems during commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
Its rugged industrial construction, low VSWR performance, and reliable thermal management make the 8892-320 suitable for demanding RF applications requiring long-duration high-power testing and stable measurement conditions.
